All contractors working with boiler, pressure vessel and refrigeration (BPVR) equipment must be licensed by Technical Safety BC. Licensing requires the submission of a Quality Control Program Manual. Find more information at the following links:

Installation, repair, or alteration of boilers and pressure vessels, including construction of boiler external piping conforming to CSA B51, and following any applicable code(s).

Construction, installation, hot tapping, repair, or alteration of pressure piping conforming to CSA B51 and following any applicable code(s).

LICENSE B - Limited Capacity Boilers, Pressure Vessels, Pressure Piping

Install, maintain, and repair the following plant types:

Fluid heating plants of 75 m2 or less of heating surface.

Steam heating plants of 30m2 or less heating surface.

Power plants of 10m2 or less of heating surface; and
-
Water heaters with inputs exceeding 120 kW.

Install and maintain:

Pressure vessels associated with the above plants; and
-
Pressure piping associated with the above plants.

LICENSE MA - Manufacturing Shop
-
Assembly, manufacture, or construction of boilers, including boiler external piping conforming to CSA B51, and following the applicable ASME construction code(s).

Assembly, manufacture, or construction of pressure vessels conforming to CSA B51, and following the applicable ASME construction code(s).

Assembly, manufacture, or construction of pressure fittings conforming to CSA B51, and following the applicable ASME construction code(s).

Assembly, manufacture, or construction of pressure piping conforming to CSA B51 and following the applicable ASME construction code(s).
